Saoirse
employs a nanosystems approach to biotechnology. Dealing with matter at
dimensions that scale a millionth to a billionth of a meter (10-6
to 10-9
m) is no small task. It is at this scale, however, that novel
properties begin to arise, that viral and bacterial infections interact
with the body, and cells exist. And so it is in this realm that Saoirse
scientists live; building tiny technologies that face disease on its
own level and improve human life from the bottom up.
